Privacy Policy for Ambient Clock Screensaver
The short version
Ambient Clock Screensaver does not collect any data about you. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere, for two separate reasons, both of which are needed: the app makes no network requests and its Android manifest requests no permissions at all, including no internet permission, and the app opts out of Android's automatic cloud backup.
What the app stores
The app saves the four settings you choose, so the clock looks the same the next time your screen goes idle:
- 24-hour clock on or off
- Seconds shown or hidden
- Accent colour
- Dim delay
These four values are written with Jetpack DataStore to the app's private storage on your device and stay there. They are not personal information, they are not linked to you or to any account, and they never leave the device. Uninstalling the app deletes them. The app also opts out of Android's automatic backup, so these settings are not copied to Google Drive either.
What the app does not do
There are no accounts and no sign-in. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. No third-party service receives anything from this app, because the app contacts no server, mine or anyone else's. There is nothing for me to sell, share or hand over, because I never receive it in the first place.
Children
The app is safe for all ages in the only sense that matters here: it collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app ever handles data differently, this page will be updated before that version is published, and the effective date above will change.
